Countdown to CGE 2012 ~ August 11-12, 2012 ~ 11 AUG 2012

Classic Gaming Expo™ Auction Preview

The Classic Gaming Expo auction is always a highlight of the weekend's events and this year we're kicking it up a notch by offering attendees the opportunity to put a photo preview here on the site as well as for potential buyers to get a peek at some of the items with plenty of time to prepare.

If you've got an item that you intend to bring to Classic Gaming Expo and would like it to appear on this preview page, PayPal us a refundable deposit of $20 and send one or two photos, all of which go to info@cgexpo.com. The deposit is necessary to make sure that people aren't wasting our time or those who will make plans to bid on specific items. Your deposit will be refunded when you register your item at the auction. If your item is not registered at the auction, you will forfeit your deposit and it will be donated to charity. You will get the deposit back when you bring your item to the show. Also please note that just as we do "in person" every year, we reserve the right to reject items to be auctioned. There is a limited number of slots available so get in there now.

Finally, if you would be interested in donating your auction item's proceeds (in whole or in part) to a tax-deductible charity, please let us know.

Atari 2600 River Patrol
Direct from the Sean Kelly collection, this is one of the toughest Atari 2600 games to find, and this one is in superb condition.

NES Dungeon Magic Prototype
This item belongs to the Portland Retro Gaming Expo booth, Toby Wickwire (y-bot) & Chuck Van Pelt (recycledgamer) specifically. Nintendo NES Taito "Dungeon Magic" prototype. Authenticated by Josh Byerly (qixmaster) and probably the same as the released version. Starting bid $100.

1995 Atari Jaguar Award
The picture says most of it. Plaque presented to Atari by Motorola in 1995. The 8" wafer that will potentially yield 200 chips is one produced by Motorola for Atari’s “Tom” CPU for the Jaguar console. A unique item for the serious Atari collector.

Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Preview Cart
Following their E3 2005 press conference Nintendo gave away a Zelda Twilight Princess (Gamecube) preview trailer on DS cartridge. Information on the internet suggests that the item is limited to around 500 units.
