Classic Gaming Expo Distinguished Guest:
JOHN SOHL
John P. Sohl was hired
by Mattel in October 1980, and was one of the first in-house
Intellivision game designers. At Mattel he designed Astrosmash
and was the lead designer on B-17 Bomber. In 1982 he moved to
Activision, where he worked on an uncompleted game which would have been
named Termite! After the market crash in summer 1984, he was a
freelance programmer, working on C-64 versions of Mind Pursuit
and 221-B Baker Street for Data East. In 1989 he worked as a
consultant for Mattel on their Power Glove input device for the
Nintendo Entertainment System.
Since 1990, he has
worked for several startups involving Japanese companies investing in US
multimedia and television.
For the past five years
he has been a freelance computer consultant, on the brink of the next
big thing! |
