Classic Gaming Expo Distinguished Guest:
OWEN RUBIN
Mr. Owen Rubin was the third or fourth programmer hired at Atari and
worked there for almost 9 years. He developed some of Atari's early
arcade hits like Sky Diver and Human Cannonball,
which were later ported to (and popularized on) the Atari VCS console.
He was also heavily involved with Atari's vector games, and Space
Duel, Major Havoc, and Tunnel Hunt
were among the more popular vector coin-ops for the company. He later
worked at Bally/Sente for over three years, where he designed the first
motion simulator game, as well as several other Sente original arcade
games.
Mr. Rubin also assisted with other games at Atari, and is credited
for adding the volcano to BattleZone.
Currently Mr. Rubin is the Director Of Technology at Prime One TeleTV,
formerly Pacific Bell Video Services, where he has helped design some
of the industry's leading interactive television and digital TV systems.
