ATARI 7800 ENCRYPTIONHere it is! The final encryption hurdle to be cleared in Atari game development. Rather than release the encryption at the show, we've decided to kick off the Classic Gaming Expo festivities by releasing it here. We hope this gets everyone in the CGE spirit and ready to party. We recently got hold of the hard drive that was actually used to encrypt 7800 games. After finding the encryption software on it, we were having trouble getting it to work. With the help of our good friend and technical wizard, Glenn Bruner, we were able to figure out how to use the software. Glenn has thoroughly tested the software and has included a documentation file on how to encrypt your 7800 games. We've even included the Pit-fighter Demo for you to practice with! Just download the encryption zip file below and follow the instructions in the file "encrypt.doc"
We sincerely hope this will inspire, encourage, and allow all potential 7800 console authors to bring their products to market. No more encryption excuses for the lack of new games! Please let us know if you develop any new 7800 products and hope to see you at the show!
