Volunteer Information and Requirements
As Classic Gaming Expo has become a large event that requires a tremendous
amount of work, we're looking for a few responsible and hard-working men
and women to assist us. Please be forewarned, however, that it's not a
glamorous job.
Individuals who are up to the task and who show a committment to getting
things done will be offered a refund of their registration fee after the
show, as well as a package of show souvenirs including shirts, caps, programs,
etc. as well as other benefits. Below are some the many jobs we have available
for those who are ready, willing and able (and who are definitely going to
be there.)
Set-Up And Cleaning Crew
This job requires help with setting up (and putting away) tables, pipes
and drapes, loading and unloading televisions and arcade games, running errands
and miscellaneous work. After the event is over on Sunday evening, you will be
asked to help with the cleanup as well.
Museum Donations And Loans
We'd like a few veteran collectors to donate or loan some classic game
machines, computers, memorabilia, posters and various other items for
the CGE Museum Exhibit. Also, rare, unusual, and unreleased systems
and peripherals would also be appreciated. Requires the transport of
items to and from the museum. All items placed in the museum are
required to be in the exhibit from Friday evening until the end of the
show (Sunday night) due to security requirements. Those who cannot make it
on Friday can also opt to ship the items to the hotel in advance and
we'll take care of the rest.
CGE Flyer Distribution
Local area folks preferred. The job requires individuals to pass out show
flyers (provided by us) to tourists, videogame stores, and other locations
in the neighboring area.
General Show Assistants
Helping with various tasks during the event. Assisting with the
tournaments, auctions, sitting at the reception table, handing out
the identification badges and programs at the front desk, etc. You will be
under the direct supervision of the Technical Coordinators.
We are also open to any other possible assistance that you can think of.
Let us know if you can help in any way.
